Ok so, as you may know, CE should be a pet's ability that has a 1.5 sec cast time. Anyways, due to difficulties, here CE is instant, so we'll focus on fixing the damage of that instant instead.
Assuming my pet has 27200 hp, corpse explosion should deal 25% of my pet's hp, meaning 27200/4 = 6800 shadow. This damage gets benefits from the following things:
-Ebon plague: +13% damage
-Rage of Rivendare: +10% damage
So it should hit for 6800 * 1.1 * 1.13 = 8452.4 <---- this is the correct amount of damage that should be done on non resilient targets.
- What do you see instead?
Corpse explosion is getting benefits, beside from ebon plague and RoR, from black ice and blood presence, while it shouldn't. So actually, it gets benefits from:
-Ebon plague: +13% damage
-Rage of Rivendare: +10% damage
-Black ice: +10% damage
-Blood Presence: +15% damage
So it will hit for 6800 * 1.1 * 1.13 * 1.1 * 1.15 = 10692.286 <--- this is the damage it was doing before, and the reason why it got nerfed.
Assuming that every DK is playing in blood presence, and assuming that everyone has black ice talent(lol you must be shit if you don't have that as unholy), what is needed is to BYPASS blood presence and black ice benefits to CE damage. How to do it? Simple, we have to reduce the pet's hp scaling:
if 25%(hp) : 10692.286 = X : 8452.4 => X = 25%(hp) * 8452.4 / 10692.286 = 19.76285%
So basically, you have to bring pet's hp scaling from 25% to 19.76285%
